Oscar Ramos

Oscar Ramos has over fifteen years experience investigating and interviewing in the field of child and youth sexual exploitation. He has been acknowleged by the courts as a Canadian and International expert in the field, and has instructed police offiders across North America, Australia and Brazil. Oscar has worked in the community as a youth worker and continues to work with all levels of government and various community groups.

Oscar received a BA from Simon Fraser Universiry and a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Vancouver Playhouse School of Theatre. He also received a Diploma from the Policing Program at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

Oscar has been a featured presenter at numerous police, government and community conferences addressing child and youth sexual exploitation and human trafficking, both nationally and internationally.

Oscar received the British Columbia Lieutenant Governor's Award for Meritorious Service; the British Columbia Solicitor General's Award for his work with community groups in the field of sexual exploitation; two Vancouver Police Department Chief Constable's Commendations for Investigative Excellence and development of the D.I.S.C. program; the Chief Constable Ray Canuel Memorial Award for Excellence in Community Policing; and a Commendation from the United States of America's Department of Homeland Security for Investigative Excellence in Human Trafficking.

Oscar continues to work closely with the community through education and training.
