change for children
Children of the Street Society is inviting local businesses to support its Change for Children fundraising campaign. The goal of Change for Children is to bring a wide range of community members together to help prevent sexual exploitation by raising funds for the Society, and to raise awareness about the issue. Our goal is to raise $3500 in Change for Children toward our prevention and education programs. 100% of the funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward our prevention programs.
Children of the Street Society is seeking local businesses to display one of our Change for Children donation boxes in a visible location and invite the staff and/or patrons to participate in our campaign for 1 month. Your donation would greatly enhance the community's involvement in this event and the money we can raise.
» Here are some ways local businesses can support Change for Children:
Place a donation box in a visible location, providing an opportunity for patrons to make a donation toward Change for Children. Patrons are welcome to take a fuchsia ribbon which symbolizes efforts in stopping sexual exploitation. Fuchsia is a combination of the color red, representing red light districts and the color purple representing stopping violence.
Change for Children is an excellent opportunity to engage your employees in supporting efforts in stopping sexual exploitation. Involve your employees by placing a donation box in lieu of a "tip jar." Set a fundraising goal and inform your patrons that for an entire month, your employees will be donating their tips to Children of the Street Society's Change for Children campaign.
Start a Staff Challenge: Change for Children can create a friendly competition between employees or in larger organizations, between departments. Set a staff challenge as to who can raise the most for Change for Children. To heighten the competition, provide incentive for staff such as a prize, gift card, or other perks relevant to your organization. For larger companies, involve larger groups of employees by starting a competition, for example, HR Department vs. Accounting Department, to see which department can raise the most Change for Children.
