Stay tuned for more details on upcoming events.
Every year the Province of B.C. proclaims a week in March for Stop the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Youth Awareness. This year the week runs from March 5th- 11th, 2012. The week recognizes the importance of supporting communities to develop prevention, education, enforcement and intervention strategies to address the sexual exploitation of children and youth. This year marks the 14th annual Stop the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Youth Awareness Week in B.C. and it will coincide with the province of Manitoba for the second year in a row.

» Fuchsia Ribbons
Every year our Branch sends out Fuchsia Ribbons to our partners for Awareness Week. Fuchsia-colored ribbons symbolize efforts in preventing the sexual exploitation of children and youth because it is a combination of red, for red light districts and purple, the provincial color for violence prevention. Fuchsia ribbons are available for distribution in your community. If you are interested in receiving ribbons to distribute, please contact Jaret Hunter from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Victim Services and Crime Prevention, at 604-775-2889 or by email (Jaret.Hunter@gov.bc.ca). Please wear a Fuchsia Ribbon during the week to help raise awareness of the sexual exploitation of children and youth.
