Children of the Street

Children of the Street Society is a resource for parents and families that are affected by the issue of sexual exploitation.  Diane Sowden, Executive Director, a parent of a sexually exploited youth, is a source for concerned parents and caregivers to seek knowledge, information, and resources on child and youth sexual exploitation.  Support, information and resources are also provided to community service providers who are concerned about a child or youth who may be vulnerable to sexual exploitation, or is sexually exploited.

Support varies and may be provided individually by creating a plan of care, while also referring families to the approrpiate community resources. Parents and families may be referred to the Ministry of Children and Family Development, law enforcement, counselling and other support and intervention services.
