for parents

Do you have concerns that your child may be being exploited? Are you unsure of how to handle your child's behaviour? Do you feel hopeless or helpless regarding your child's behaviour and activity? Are you worried about your child's safety?

Since 1995, Children of the Street has been dedicated to preventing the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children and youth in British Columbia. We also provide support and referral services for children and families already affected by this crime.

We recognize that you may experience many emotions and feelings when dealing with your child. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, helpless, hopeless, scared, vulnerable, amongst a variety of other feelings.

Our goal is to help you, as parents, stay vigilant and informed to help keep your child safe from being exploited and/or trafficked. This issue is severe and complex, but we want you to know that you are not alone.

The resources above will help you get a better understanding of the issue and the resources available to help in your community.
