service provider toolkit

Human Trafficking of children and youth for the purpose of sexual exploitation happens in Canada, and it can happen to anyone.

Understanding the complexities of a trafficking situation is key to the successful intervention of it and the prosecution of offenders.

Published in 2017, this toolkit is designed to inform service providers of how to identify, support and guide a trafficked youth through the criminal justice system while offering strategies on how to provide collaborative responses to trafficking situations.

Although this toolkit provides a significant amount of information related to working with victims of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, it is not comprehensive.

It is not meant to be used in lieu of professional services but as an information resource and guide.

Please be sure to go through the toolkit prior to using with clients so you are familiar with its contents.

The toolkit can be read in its entirety or by section, as relevant to the situation.
